Prom 2011
I had so so so much fun at prom! One of my best friends, Graham Duncan and I went together. Of course there was the whole pre-prom prep that had to be done. Elizabeh Owen and I went to get our nails done the day before, which was a zoo. We finished off Prom Eve by going to the Tamarak Carnival for a while and then heading back to her house to lay in the tanning bed. The next morning we were up bright and early to be good Student Councilains and decorate for prom. Afterwards I headed to my Nana's for a morning nap before I was to get my hair done. Finally, I headed home and put on my make-up and dress, which was the easiest part. My favorite part was the shoes. We wore lime green converses with our fancy attire. I of couse, had to have sparkly shoe laces. And the best part is, you can wear them again! (Like a bridesmaid dress...except these are better.) We definately looked fly! Graham and Connor Anderson came to get me, we took pictures, then headed to Elizabeth Owens house where we took more pictures before we could finally head to Derek Austins house to take even more pictures and finally eat! We only had to make one detour, and that was to save our poor, innocent, dear lost friends, Christina and Jacob. I would first like to point out that Derek Austins house is VERY easy to find. You go straight down a highway and only make one turn to get into his driveway. But, apparently, that can be confusing. So, Elizabeth and I, knowing our way around Utica backwards, had to figure out where they were, how to get to them, and help them get back to Dereks. It turned out they were only 3 or 4 miles down the road. We finally got to Dereks, took more pictures, and ATE! Mrs. Austin is an amazing cook! We had steak, chicken, shrimp, baked potatoes, and rolls. Then, the desert table! Yes, it had its own table. So many cakes, chocolate, pies, and ice cream! It was sooo good! We had some time to kill so we headed down to the basement and played Apples to Apples with 12 people, which was interesting. Graham, Connor, Elizabeth and I then headed to my Nanas to take, of course, more picture and then we were finally off to prom! It was almost perfect! I loved dancing even though it mainly by myself but thats ok! My group isn't into the grinding on eachother haha. Some people awkwardly stood there which doesn't make it very fun, I prefer to dance! The secret is, that there isn't a secret to dancing, so it's best to just do your own thing. Some people haven't been let in on that secret yet so they think they look dumb when they dance. But, its prom and for most it only happens twice so might as well make the best of it!
